Suzuki GSX-R1000 K7

Suzuki’s GSX-R1000 K7 has been the undisputed king of sportsbikes since its introduction back in 2001. The heart of the matter has always been its incredibly flexible 999cc engine. While it may have not always won the outright dyno contests at the extreme upper end of the rev range but for an overall spread of useable power and torque from idle through to redline the Suzuki is still unmatched. What dyno sheets fail to convey though is just how near telepathic the connection from the throttle to the rear wheel feels under your hand on the GSX-R1000 K7
That legendary engine now benefits from a new cylinder head with much larger ports, more aggressive camshafts and an uprated fuel injection system. The way the fuel and air gets out of the motor is also much changed with a completely new exhaust system and this is one area where Suzuki have really departed from current trends. While most manufacturers have moved to an underseat muffler layout Suzuki have refused to go this route. In what seems like a blast from the past the 2007 model boasts a muffler on each side that brings back memories of the long forgotten GSX-R1100 machines of more than a decade ago
A completely new frame for Suzuki GSX-R1000 K7, swingarm and shock linkage is also introduced for 2007. New forks are larger in external diameter to increase rigidity but the fork tubes remain 43mm in diameter while offset is reduced from 30mm to 28mm. Both the forks and new shock benefit from both high and low speed compression adjustments added to the range of customary rebound and preload settings.Suzuki have also added some nice touches to aid rider comfort with the pegs now adjustable through a 14mm range and the front of the seat now offers a slimmer profile between the knees.
